The Cruel Mission
In a world dictated by a novel’s plot, Chi Anning was the designated “villainess.” Her mission? To ruthlessly humiliate the poor male lead, Shen Xu, shattering his heart so he would be motivated to rise to power. Only then could she return to her own reality.
“Do you want him to carry cargo for the rest of his life?” the System in her head scolded. “Be cruel.”
So, ten years ago, Anning looked at the boy who was willing to be her “dog” out of love, and she crushed him. “Everything you own isn’t even worth one of my socks,” she sneered. She left him in the rain, believing she was saving his future, unaware that her words had turned his love into a dark, twisted obsession.
The Dark CEO’s Return
Ten years later, Anning returned to complete her final mission: to be destroyed by the hero. But the Shen Xu she found was no longer the poor boy. He was the cold, ruthless CEO of the Shen Group, and his “corruption level” was dangerously high.
Instead of killing her, Shen Xu began a terrifying game of cat and mouse. He forced her to be his secretary, humiliated her greedy family who tried to sell her off to an old man, and even announced he would marry her—supposedly for revenge.
“You think I’m engaged to you out of love?” he scoffed, his eyes burning. “This is punishment.”
But his actions betrayed his words. When she was bullied at work by his “fiancée” Feng Yuwei, Shen Xu fired the manager who insulted her. When her family tried to force her into a marriage, he destroyed their company to set her free.

The Truth Behind the Hate
Anning tried everything to make him hate her to complete the plot. She hired a “fake boyfriend” (her System, Fang Xian, in human form) to make Shen Xu jealous. It backfired. Shen Xu didn’t hate her; he locked her up, desperate and broken.
“For ten years, hatred kept me alive,” Shen Xu confessed in a moment of vulnerability. “But the moment I saw you again, I realized hatred was just an excuse. All I wanted was to see you.”
He knew something was controlling her. He even developed a chip to block the System’s voice, desperate to hear her true feelings.
The Ultimate Sacrifice
The drama reached its peak when Feng Yuwei, revealed to be the real daughter of the Chi family, kidnapped Anning. She held a knife to Anning’s throat, demanding Shen Xu give up everything.
“Choose,” Feng Yuwei screamed. “Your empire or her.”
Shen Xu didn’t hesitate. He signed away the Shen Group, his life’s work. “If I leave, I lose everything,” he said, looking into Anning’s eyes. “But without you, nothing matters.”
However, the story had its rules. To save Shen Xu from a tragic fate destined by the plot, Anning had to “die” and leave the book world. At their wedding, she staged her death to end the villainess arc, waking up back in her real world, in a hospital bed, surrounded by her parents.
A Love Beyond Dimensions
Back in reality, Anning lived like a shell, missing a “fictional character.” She thought it was over.
Until one rainy day, a familiar voice called out to her. “Ningning.”
She turned around to see Shen Xu standing there—real, flesh and blood, in her world.
“How is this possible?” she cried. “You’re just a character in a book!”
Shen Xu smiled, holding her hand. “They say human emotion is the strongest force in the universe. The System… he sacrificed himself to tear open a crack between the worlds, just so I could find you.”
Shen Xu had given up his world, his wealth, and his status to become a “man with no ID” in hers, just to be with her.
“Are you afraid I can’t marry you because I’m an illegal immigrant?” Shen Xu laughed softly, kissing her forehead. “Don’t worry. Everything will be okay.”
The Villainess and the Dark CEO found their happy ending, not in the pages of a novel, but in a reality they forged with a love that defied the laws of the universe.
