The Unexpected Reunion
Life had been cruel to Shen Nani. Once a cherished daughter, she was now a struggling single mother working odd jobs to pay for her son’s medical bills. Her family had gone bankrupt, and her mother, desperate for money, forced her into blind dates with wealthy men.
Reluctantly arriving at a hotel for one such date, Nani was stunned to see the man waiting for her wasn’t a stranger, but Fu Anlin—her ex-boyfriend from six years ago. He was no longer the sweet boy she loved; he was now the cold, ruthless CEO of the Fu Group.
“What made you think I’d be with an indecent woman like you?” Anlin sneered, his eyes full of hate. He believed she had left him for money years ago, unaware that she had been threatened into leaving to protect him.
The Secret Child
Nani fled the hotel, heartbroken. But fate wasn’t done with them. Her 4-year-old son, Yupi, suffered from hereditary asthma and color blindness—conditions he shared with Anlin.
One day, while Nani was distracted, Yupi ran into Anlin on the street.
“You look super handsome! Are you my daddy?” the little boy asked innocently.
Anlin was taken aback. The boy’s eyes, his mannerisms… they were hauntingly familiar. When Nani rushed over to retrieve her son, Anlin’s suspicion grew.
“In which year was he born?” Anlin demanded, grabbing her arm.
“He’s four! We broke up six years ago!” Nani lied, terrified he would take her son away if he knew the truth. In reality, Yupi was five, but small for his age due to his illness.
The Revenge Marriage
Despite his anger, Anlin couldn’t stay away. When Yupi needed expensive surgery, Anlin stepped in to pay the bills, but with a condition: Nani had to marry him.
“It’s just a transaction,” he told her coldly. “I need a wife to fend off unwanted attention. You need money.”
Nani agreed, hoping to save her son. But living with Anlin was torture. He oscillated between protecting her from her cruel relatives and jealous rivals, and punishing her for her “betrayal.” He forced her to sign a prenuptial agreement, claiming he would never fall for her again.
However, actions spoke louder than words. When Nani was bullied at work, Anlin bought the entire company. When her ex-fiance harassed her, Anlin beat him up. And when Yupi called him “Daddy,” Anlin’s eyes softened in a way Nani hadn’t seen in years.

The Truth Revealed
The turning point came when a jealous rival, Chu Shuang, tried to expose Nani as a “promiscuous woman” at a high-society party. She claimed Yupi was a bastard child with no father.
Anlin stepped forward, silencing the room. “He is my son.”
The crowd gasped. Anlin revealed he had secretly done a paternity test. Yupi was his. The lies Nani told to protect him crumbled.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Anlin asked later, his voice trembling with emotion.
“I thought you hated me,” Nani whispered.
A Dangerous Twist
Just as they were reconciling, tragedy struck. Anlin’s father, furious that his son was with a “poor” woman, demanded they divorce. When Anlin refused, a struggle ensued, and Anlin was struck on the head, falling into a coma.
When he woke up, he had amnesia… or so it seemed. He coldly pushed Nani away, handing her divorce papers and claiming it was all a revenge plot.
“I hate you. Get out,” he said, his eyes devoid of love.
Heartbroken, Nani left. She didn’t know that Anlin was lying to protect her from his powerful enemies who were threatening her life. He watched her go with tears in his eyes, sacrificing his happiness for her safety.
The Happy Ending
A year passed. Nani worked hard, raising Yupi alone, but she never stopped loving Anlin. One day, a new CEO took over her company. It was Anlin. He had defeated his enemies and reclaimed his power.
He found Nani and Yupi waiting for him.
“Daddy!” Yupi screamed, running into his arms.
Anlin hugged them both, the mask of coldness finally gone. “I’m sorry I’m late,” he said, kissing Nani. “I missed out on six years. I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you.”
He got down on one knee, proposing for real this time. “Shen Nani, will you marry me? Not as a contract, but as my wife?”
“Yes,” she cried.
The family of three walked away hand in hand, finally whole.
